Why Do You Need Oral Hygienic Treatments?
In addition to home dental care, it is important to use professional opportunities in order to preserve the beauty of our smile and our oral health. Professional oral hygiene treatments are performed by trained dental hygienists. During oral hygiene treatment, the dental hygienist will completely clean your teeth of plaque and tartar and then explain how to best care for your teeth in your daily routine as part of an oral hygiene consultation.
Immediately after brushing, plaque formation begins on our teeth. And unpeeled plaque develops tartar that cannot be removed from our teeth by home methods. Tartar can also be an inducer of severe periodontal disease if not removed in time.
What are the procedures for oral hygiene?
Ultrasonic Tartar Removal and Air-Brush Salt Polishing provide perfect purity in two steps. Coarser tartar and larger particles can be detached from the surface of the teeth during the removal of tartar (depuration). Salt polishing, in turn, perfectly removes any discoloration that has accumulated. Therefore, professional oral hygiene treatment is not equivalent to the removal of tartar.
After ultrasonic tartar removal, the tooth surface is cleaned with a fine bristle brush and a special polishing paste. In hard-to-reach areas, a powder-blasting polisher is applied, which blows fine-grained dust particles onto the surface of the tooth under high pressure, thereby removing fine deposits. The resulting smooth surface has a harder adhesion to the plaque. Depending on how dirty our teeth and gums are, the treatment may take 20-40 minutes and does not require any form of pain relief as it uses painless procedures.
Oral hygiene treatment is recommended at least twice a year to maintain the health of our teeth.
