Best of all, the patient can be presented with a “visual” which makes it much easier for the individual to understand the envisioned end result. The patients can now make much more informed choices and decisions and give their approval prior to that actual treatment even starting.

In summary, smile design is the entire process, beginning with the pre-visualization and planning of the preferred outcome of any given esthetic dental procedure. What is the process?

The Digital Smile Design process consists of the following steps:

• Step 1: Our team will take digital photos of your teeth and entire mouth from multiple angles

• Step 2: We will review the photos using special software that allows us to begin demonstrating potential changes

• Step 3: A simulation of your smile after treatment will be rendered in a “digital mock-up”

• Step 4: Our team takes impressions of your teeth and we translate the digital design onto the physical model

Can I preview what a Smile Makeover would look like?

• Step 5: Absolutely. We will create a resin model to see how well the modeled treatments fit your teeth and your needs

If you’re happy with this final mock-up, our dentists will perform any necessary treatments according to the roadmap you and the dentist developed through the Digital Smile Design process.
